What is better and more energy efficient?

Gas or Electric dryer? Looking for a new one (good old 25 year old Maytag dryer(gas) finally died.Don't want or need one of those new big *** ones but something decent that is energy efficient and not too expensive.(say under $700.00) (Canadian)
